is where I might be going next summer! And Austria(if you talk to me and I say Vienna, I mean Austria). As some might know, every 2 years a group of German-speaking students from Valley Christian goes to Austria and Germany for about 6 weeks. My aunt, brother, and maybe uncle? have been on this trip. My brother was with the last group that went. And even though I'm home schooled, the teacher and leader of the group said I could go with them! I'm so excited! I've spent pretty much all my free time coming up with lists for it-lists of what I need, what I have, what I might have, what I can do to fundraise, etc etc. I'm pretty sure my brother is getting extremely annoyed with me-at least every other day I have about 3 new questions to ask him...and it's still over 6 months away!
I'm just so excited! I've been practicing my German and it's coming along...slowly, but coming. It seems that for me, my life has been mainly about getting ready for this trip. And I'm having a ton of fun doing it. My birthday and Christmas list? It has 2 things on it-gift cards to places that I can buy travel gear at, and anything off my 'needs for Germany' list. My sister and I have been working like crazy on making stuff for craft fairs that we will be at in November and December-there will only be 2 and although the first one is still 2 months away, we're getting ready.
The first one is the Valley Christian one-Kyra, my mom, and I will have a table. My mom will sell Pampered Chef and Kyra and I are selling a lot of stuff...dog treats, knitted hats and scarves, baby/lap quilts, handmade bracelets, and maybe even cat treats! And most of the funds will go towards Germany...depending how much we make.
I just can't wait until June!!!!!
Growing up isn't easy....but we all go through it and here's my growing up story.....

Driving
Isn't so bad! Well, except for when in reverse...I think I scared my teacher while doing that. Since my drivers ed is in Florence, we started there. Then my driving buddy, Alisha Wiley, drove down the old highway just past Trader Brothers and back. Then I did the same thing. Then Alisha drove down past Trader Brothers to the parking lot and drove around cones. First a forward figure eight for awhile-one handed as well as two handed. Then she did that backwards, once again one handed as well. Then she did the serpentina-around every cone instead of the 8. Then she did that in reverse. Then I took over. I did basically the same thing...except I scared my teacher and didn't do one handed while in reverse. But I had never backed up at all before. Good news is my dad said he'd try to take me out practicing backing up this weekend! For now, breath easy Florence...until tomorrow when more beginners practice. Watch out Stevensville for we're coming for you next!!! :-)

It's been forever
since I blogged, I know. But now that school is out for the summer maybe I'll be able to a little more...maybe. :-)
Today I started drivers ed. I had to wake up at 6:45-almost 2 hours earlier than normal!! Yeah, that was exciting. :-) Drivers ed is a 2 hour class from 8-10 every day in Florence. Hopefully getting up earlier will get easier. It should, right? Starting this week, we will work on driving with our driving buddy. First trip is around Florence. That is a warning for Florence people. :-)
Other exciting stuff in my life:
Hopefully in a year I'm going to Germany and Austria! This is with kids from Valley. It will be around a 6 week trip, travelling all over. It's a missions trip-as well as sightseeing we will help out at English speaking day camps (VBS's), and churches and stuff like that. I am extremely excited and am working on learning German by myself. It's a lot harder than you might think at first-I have no idea if I'm saying stuff correctly. Thankfully, I have a friend who speaks German and helps me. And Geoffrey does sometimes correct my pronunciation.
Geoffrey, Kyra, JoyLynn, and I are getting ready for the fair. Kyra already has 2 of her exhibits done. Sometimes I think she has too much extra time...or too much self-discipline. :-) In my defense-my books are a bit harder. And one of my activities I can't get done for another week. For it, my friend and I will talk at dog class about getting ready for the dog show and stuff. Very exciting, I know. But, hey, if any of you guys need any advice on 4-H dog shows we'll be able to help you! Theoretically speaking, of course.
I guess I'll go work on some 4-H stuff...for now, llama board. My original plan was to do one on famous llamas but the only 2 I've found are Kuzco from Emperor's New Groove and Tina from Napolean Dynamite. So yeah, that's not going so well...I'll continue on that one.

Dance class
Probably our favorite class. The 'our' is Kyra, JoyLynn, and me. We are the ones in the dance class. But Atsede and Kebrom love to come and watch.
At dance Kyra and I dance for three hours-from 1-4. JoyLynn dances for 1 1/2 hours-from 1-2:30.
In dance we've learned cha-cha, slow two-step, several line dances, several round dances, we are learning rhumba, mombo, and jive.
We are constantly adding onto what we've already learned.
And this semester will end in March.
And that might be for good.
So sad.
But maybe a new dance will start fall semester. Something completely new.
And the family homeschool square-dances will keep going, no matter what.
If not, then us three girls will always treasure our memories of dance class and we'll always remember the dances.
And we'll probably always wish we could've done it more, for longer.
But we've made new friends, and strengthened other friendships. And we've had so much fun.
And that is more important and more special than anything else.
